About the Author

Tony was born in the West Midlands in the UK and migrated to Australia in 1965 with his wife Anne and three children. They now have six, one boy (the eldest) and five daughters. Tony has had a wide variety of jobs in the UK; his trades included iron moulder, steel worker, furnace man, and forger. In Australia, he worked in construction as a licensed scaffolder, rigger, dogman and timber man in the mines. A major accident when he was 38years old finished that sort of work. Incidentally, that was the first time he ever owned any type of phone. In fact, it was the first time he had made a phone call. Since then, he has had a variety of jobs, including salesman, taxi driver and then went onto form his own fire extinguisher business. It was while operating this business, driving on a dirt road in the bush for four hours that the idea for a book came into his head. Although he still can’t spell and at that time was computer illiterate, he wrote his first book, Defender of Genes. Now he is in his eighties. This book, Mitochondrial Eves, is to form part of a trilogy. The way it’s written, it could well be a never-ending story.
